Meet Walt White, a brilliant chemist who at one time was on the verge of earning a Nobel Prize for his work in science. Having just turned 50 years old, Walt has instead settled into a career as a high school chemistry teacher. He has a wife, a son with cerebral palsy, and a new baby on the way. Unfortunately Walt makes very little money as a teacher and even had to take a second job to make ends meet. On top of the added pressures of raising a family on a single income, Walt, who has never smoked in his life, has been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. At his wits end with unruly students, a boss who consistently takes advantage of him and the news of his illness, Walt decides to go on a ride along with his brother-in-law, Hank, a DEA agent. As he waits in the back seat he witnesses a drug bust unfold. It is here where Walt is introduced to the lucrative world of methamphetamine dealing... and to Jesse, a former lackey student of his and a known meth dealer around town. Together they go on a wild ride of high stakes meth making while dodging an angry drug dealer, Krazy-8 whose territory they have just intruded on.
